Common Sense Leadership

  • Criminal Justice Reform: "Support efforts to strengthen law enforcement and include community service officers to meet the demands of citizens with psychological challenges “…Propose mandatory GED completion / TRADE training before inmates are released from ADOC custody!
  • Illegal Narcotics: “Declare a full-fledged State of Emergency in response to the Opioid crisis. I will, after having spoken to Alabama residents, work to establish an Opioid Operational Command Center to break down traditional silos and allow for more rapid and effective coordination between state and local agencies.”
  • I am running for lieutenant governor because I want every Alabamian to have a fair opportunity to realize and live the American Dream. I want to create opportunities for all, including future employment for those that have been previously incarcerated. I want to work with labor unions and educators to prepare Alabamians to enter the workforce.
  • I know what it is like to live just below poverty level. Therefore, I want us to expand Medicaid, protect the Medicaid trust fund, and do everything we can to open hospitals or clinics in EVERY area of the state.
  • We believe that we can do a better job in getting mental health care for those in need instead of relying on law enforcement to handle it.
  • The goal is to work diligently to preserve a positive image of Alabama as a state. There must be healing…If we do not learn from our past, we are doomed to repeat it.
  • As lieutenant governor, I will bring the intrinsic value of strategic and critical thinking, moral and ethical precepts to preside over the Senate in a fair and impartial manner. Equally important, I have the enterprise management skills for healthy dialog through perceptual objectivity, collaboration, problem solving, consensus building, and decision making that will create synergy and focus to resolve important issues that affect the future of our state…BOTTOM LINE COMMON SENSE!
  • Continue to work with the Gov in legally recruiting industrial development and convincing potential investors to locate or relocate in the State of Alabama and making sure that we have the “right” people in the “right” place.
  • Continue to make agencies like the Alabama Bureau of Pardons and Parole a paramount part of Alabama Law Enforcement and the resources they need to do so.
  • Alabama can be at the top in education. Though we are No. 1 in pre-K, we are close to last in basic education.
  • Work to provide retirement credentials to each law enforcement officer who retires honorably.
